Aybala Görkem Polat graduated with High Honors from the Psychology Department at Çankaya University. During her undergraduate studies, she completed her internship at Özel Boylam Psychiatry Hospital, which includes both Psychiatry and AMATEM (Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment Center) units. Throughout this internship, she had the opportunity to closely observe individual psychotherapy sessions, social skills training group therapies, addiction group therapies, and inpatient ward visits. Additionally, she observed Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) sessions as part of the treatment process. Following her undergraduate education, she was accepted into the Clinical Psychology Master’s Program at Konya Food and Agriculture University, where she completed her coursework as a High Honors Student. She obtained the title of Clinical Psychologist after successfully completing her thesis project titled “Eating Disorders from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Perspective”. Specializing in Adolescents, Adults, and Couples & Family Therapy, Aybala Görkem Polat provides therapy services through an eclectic approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Systemic Psychotherapy, as well as incorporating Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Schema Therapy into her practice. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Kültegin Ögel, she developed expertise in Gambling and Betting Addiction Treatment, enhancing her skills with Motivational Interviewing Techniques. Additionally, through the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Theoretical Program led by Prof. Dr. Hakan Türkçapar, she has advanced her knowledge in the treatment of various disorders, including: Depression Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia Generalized Anxiety Disorder Specific Phobias Social Anxiety Disorder Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Somatoform Disorders Health Anxiety Disorder Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Furthermore, during her master's studies, she completed training in Systemic Psychotherapy with a focus on Family and Couples Therapy and continued her Family and Marriage Therapy education under Prof. Dr. Hürol Fışıloğlu. With her expertise in Eating Disorders, the focus of her master’s specialization, she also provides tailored therapy services in this area.
