About the expert

Hello, I am Clinical Psychologist Betül Esen. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (in English) and my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with high honors. During my studies, I spent time at the University of Padua, Faculty of Psychology, in Italy, which allowed me to gain an intercultural perspective; I further strengthened my expertise in trauma through international programs. In my work, I rely on evidence-based approaches—particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Schema Therapy. I work with adolescents and adults in areas such as migration/adaptation processes and homesickness, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, somatization, personality disorders, anger management, and performance/exam stress; as well as issues related to harsh self-criticism and strengthening self-compassion. With child clients, I utilize art therapy techniques to support the safe and creative expression of emotions. In addition to Turkish, I provide services in advanced English. My experience working with diverse cultures and engaging in international collaborations helps me offer an inclusive and culturally sensitive therapeutic environment. Together, I am here to create the most suitable roadmap tailored to your needs.
